Hope sees the invisible, senses the intangible and fulfills the impossible.
(Charles Caleb Colton)
Speranta Local Development Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit and apolitical organization, set up in 1995 through the Decision no. 38/08.05.1995 delivered by Piatra Neamt Court of Law. The initial name was Speranta Foundation for Mutual Aid of Unemployed People, the first projects were those financed by the European Union through PAEM Program (Program of Active Measures for the Occupation of the Labour Force). In 2001, through the Decision no. 3/26.02.2001 delivered by Tirgu Neamt Court of Law, the modifications to the foundations memorandum were made and the present name was adopted.
During the years, our organization became an important change agent in the community, due to many projects initiated and carried out in several areas such as: fighting against unemployment, professional orientation and training, tourism, social services for disadvantaged people, protection of the environment, training and counseling for Small and Medium-Seized Enterprises, counseling for the citizens, etc. Through over 30 implemented projects, new institutions were created, the specialists were continuously trained, the mentalities were changed and maybe the most important thing, viable partnerships were set and developed that support even now the activity in the community.
Our journey wasnt smooth, but we learnt to look at all the trying times as some gates and new beginnings. Each experience made us stronger and hope was always in our hearts.
None of these would have been possible without the help and support of our financers, partners, donors, sponsors and friends and we thank them once more for choosing Speranta.
